Imam Hussain Foundation's Hawza was established in January 2006, with opening ceremonies taking place on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadeer 1426H out of the needs of the increasing Muslim population in North America and the growing, urgent demand for more Islamic scholars. Hundreds of Islamic centers and mosques are in need of clergymen (ulama) who can provide sound Islamic guidance. The need is particularity great for ulama who are able to speak English and French. Factors such as these necessitated the establishment of an Islamic Hawza.
